Understanding the goals, limitations, and users

When I work with a project, I usually have certain goals or metrics to achieve. Understanding what I'm trying to achieve and any limitations is key. Then, I identify all potential users of the product and prioritize them based on these goals.
01

Breaking down the JTBD, identifying problems,
and defining the variables of success

Customers are different; however, they are using our product to achieve the same purpose. So it is really crucial to understand their core jobs, functional, and emotional aspects they are considering when achieving that purpose.
In this step, I try to figure out the user/customer journey, what are the jobs they are trying to do in each step of the journey, what problems they are having in each step, and what are the value parameters that they are using to measure the success of those jobs. Understanding these helps me to create right value for the customers/users.
02

Identifying the root causes
behind the problems and their contexts

As a first principle thinker, I reckon problems are like symptoms and there are always some causes behind them. It's crucial to dig into the context surrounding these issues and uncover the root causes for effective problem-solving. This thorough understanding sets the stage for comprehensive solutions and successful outcomes.
03

Brainstorming and defining solution

Once I've identified and prioritized the key problems and tasks, the next step involves proposing effective solutions. This collaborative process includes brainstorming for creative ideas, prioritizing prioritized them based on the business goals and other aspects, discussing the feasibility of solutions with engineers, designing the layouts, prototyping, testing with the users, and re-iterating depending on the user feedback. This joint effort ensures a well-rounded approach to creating and implementing successful solutions that address the identified issues.
04

Getting prepared for design hand-offs

The concluding steps involve preparing necessary documentation and design assets for the engineers and a comprehensive product requirements document to ensure a shared understanding within the team. I also collaborate with clients to define metrics and assist in developing a go-to-market strategy. This holistic approach ensures a smooth and well-coordinated product development and launch process.
The concluding steps involve preparing necessary documentation and design assets for the engineers and a comprehensive product requirements document to ensure a shared understanding within the team. Following this, we proceed with sprint planning, execute the solutions, address bugs, conduct thorough testing, and gear up for launch. What people say about me?

Shibly is an unbelievably talented, hard-working professional with an empathetic approach to building strong relationships. Through some of the hardest times during the global pandemic, Shibly not only provided great work but he went the extra length to help those in need with his skill set. Without Shibly’s design skills, there is no doubt I would not have found the success with the Harlem Tech Summit in 2020 and I would have never become a New York Times leading candidate for Mayor of New York City. Shibly has been one of the most impactful people in my life and his technical skills have truly had a positive impact on New York City.

mayoral candidates for NYC 2021
The product Shibly and his team have designed for us speaks for itself. I have lost track of how many comments I have had about how clean and professional it is with seamless user experience and we started seeing early impact in our business. Another thing I really like about how Shibly works, how he is unafraid to disagree-always with grace and professionalism-if in doing so, it helps realise the vision and intent.
Jaspal Kalsey
Director, ESPD School
Shibly's understanding of psychological mechanics and the placement of page elements to drive higher engagement and conversion is impressive and he consistently shows to hold his work to an extremely high standard. He was responsive to feedback and was proactive in ensuring the website was up to specifications. Quite simply Sifat was a pleasure to work with.
Aidan Jefferson

I have had the pleasure of working closely with Shibly on several projects. His ability to understand the needs of our customers and translate them into intuitive website layouts was truly impressive.
